The Dallas Foundation Awards Heart & Bones Rescue $25,000 Animal Welfare Grant

Dallas, TX – Hearts & Bones Animal Rescue is pleased to have received a $25,000 grant from the Dallas Foundation’s Louis B. and Mary Ratliff Fund for Animal Welfare, to support their mission to save the lives of homeless dogs in Dallas and the surrounding area.

This fund rewards over $300,000 in grants annually to organizations that promote the health and welfare of animals and is awarded by The Dallas Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to provide philanthropists with flexible means for making donations to improve the Dallas community.

"Heart & Bones Rescue serves as an important bridge in the dog rescue and adoption community, moving Dallas’ unwanted dogs toward loving homes rather than being euthanized,” said Drexell Owusu, Chief Impact Officer of The Dallas Foundation. “We admire their innovative approach and are proud to support their work transporting these animals to communities and families who wholeheartedly welcome new furry companions.”

“We are so grateful for the Dallas Foundation’s support as we expand our rescue work in Texas. This grant will enable Hearts & Bones to further assist our local shelters in closing lifesaving gaps,” said Whitney Fang, President.

Hearts & Bones Rescue is a nonprofit organization focused on rescuing dogs in need from overcrowded Texas shelters and transporting them to New York City, where they live in loving foster homes until they find their forever families. Since 2017, Hearts & Bones has saved the lives of over 4,300 dogs and built a positive, inclusive lifesaving community of fosters, volunteers and adopters.
