Hearts & Bones Rescue Surprised with $10,000 from the Petco Foundation Now Has the Chance to Earn $25,000 More with Public’s Help

Dallas, TX and New York, NY –Hearts & Bones Rescue is excited to have won a $10,000 #HolidayWishes grant from the Petco Foundation to save more dogs in need. Our wonderful adopter Anupam submitted his adoption story about his pup Daisy and was 1 of 50 winners chosen from thousands of entries. Here’s a snippet of their story:

“When Daisy looks at us, she does not see our sexuality, she does not see our brown skin, she does not see how much money we have, she does not see what we look like. She just loves us for who we are. For the first time in our lives, we feel wanted, validated, loved, and celebrated exactly as we are.”

Hearts & Bones is incredibly grateful to Anupam and Jai for sharing how they found love and acceptance for who they are through adopting Daisy; and to the Petco Foundation for honoring Anupam, Jai, and Daisy and supporting our lifesaving work. This grant will help fund our Rescue Ranch in 2021 and enable us to save the lives of so many dogs in need. Hearts & Bones is additionally grateful to all the wonderful Petco store employees who have helped us all keep our pets happy and healthy through a difficult year.

Now through December 16, 2020, you can help Hearts & Bones win an additional $25,000 in the People’s Choice competition. All you have to do is vote for Anupam and Daisy’s story at the link below.

About Hearts & Bones Rescue

Hearts & Bones Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless dogs from the nation’s most overburdened shelters and uniting them with loving families. At its rescue base in Dallas, TX, Hearts & Bones works directly with shelters at the forefront of the stray and unwanted dog crisis, in areas where euthanasia rates are among the highest in the country. Newly rescued dogs are placed into loving foster homes around Dallas, or stay at the new Hearts & Bones Rescue Ranch for 1-2 weeks. Hearts & Bones then runs bi-weekly transports of 30-50 dogs to their adoptions hub in New York City, where all dogs are met by their loving foster parents and stay with them until they’re adopted. Since its founding in 2017, Hearts & Bones has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs thanks to the efforts of their more than 1,000 foster families and dedicated volunteers.
