Become a Part of the Hearts & Bones Team –
Staff Volunteer Program

Become a part of the behind-the-scenes work that goes into rescuing dogs in need! Our Staff Volunteer Program is designed for volunteers who are ready and willing to make a greater time commitment to our life-saving mission. Staff volunteers typically dedicate a minimum of 3-4 hours per week to the rescue and perform a variety of activities to make our operation run smoothly.


Our Adoptions Team are the ambassadors who unite our dogs with their forever families, including processing applications, organizing meetings between adopters and dogs, and finalizing adoptions. 



Our Foster Team ensures all our dogs have temporary foster homes while they look for their adoptive home and ensures our fosters feel supported by our community throughout the process.


Our Medical Team tracks our dogs’ medical needs, organizes medical appointments when they need professional attention, and collates and distributes medical records. 



Our Alumni Team are the day-to-day liaisons for our adopters after they take home their new pups and ensure our adopters feel supported by our community. 


Our Marketing Team develops strategic content to elevate HBR’s lifesaving programs across our communication channels including social media, email marketing, our website, and more.



Our Development Team assists with various fundraising initiatives, data entry, event planning, and donor management.


Our Operations Team ensures HBR has the infrastructure to support our lifesaving work including technology, finance, and accounting. 



Our Transport Review Team synthesizes and organizes the data for every dog we bring into the rescue from our partner shelters. They make sure every dog is eligible for transport prior to their trip from Dallas to NYC.
